« We develop alternative solutions
Where it is not in the best interests of the child to live with their parents, we develop family-based alternatives like foster care.
We train local partners to recruit and support foster parents to care for children who would otherwise be living in institutions.
A child may be fostered to prevent placement in an institution; and once the family is more stable, he/she can be reintegrated back home.
Alternatively, if they have already been placed in an institution, reintegration with the birth family (or adoption if reintegration is not possible) is the next step. Daycare or rehabilitation centres offer advice, treatment and respite for families.
Parent and Baby Units provide short-term accommodation and support to vulnerable parents.
